Local Landmark Listed On National Registry
The Henry Cemetery located just south of Reger on highway Z was officially listed December 28, 2005 on the National Registry of Historic Sites. This cemetery is believed to be the oldest in the county with the first burial having been in 1841.

Glenda Richey, a former resident of Sullivan County acting as Historian for The Board For The Friends Of The Henry Cemetery, with the support and help of the board members did the research and submitted the documentation to the State Historical Preservation Office.

This action will provide some Federal Protection for the cemetery should the proposed rock quarry that would surround the cemetery on three sides resurface in the future.

Thanks Glenda, and the Board For The Friends Of The Henry Cemetery for your efforts.
